BIG Alliance Changes

Hello all;

There are a few members in technocracy that feel it is time for a change, as do I. We have been talking about many different ways of becoming a more respected alliance in GW. We started with getting rid of many inactive members, and now it is time for the next step.

Therefore we shall be limiting our numbers by letting go of a few members yet again. These members will be everyone under 50million army size. This however does not mean goodbye as we are going to be putting together a training alliance for Technocracy. If you wish to stay with us, you will simply be moving to another alliance to train and grow. Once you have the army size and skills required, you will then simply be moved back into Technocracy.

All members who have an army size between 51million-100million have one month to get their army to 101million or higher. If you do not make the targeted army size within the month then you shall be kicked from the alliance.

Everyone a fair chance at rejoining Technocracy as long as their army size is 101million or higher, meaning we are not kicking you forever!

Members that already have an army size of 101million or over will not be affected by this change, however may wish to start thinking about their fighting capability prior to the next alliance change. This does not mean we will become an all out warring alliance, however it would be nice if we were able to fight back if someone does come knocking on our door.

The main reasons for these changes is so that Technocracy stops getting farmed as much as we have been getting, and picks up some of its well deserved former glory.

All of the above changes will take effect as soon as we have created and established the training alliance. This should be done within a day. The Technocracy forums will be a forum for both alliances as many members already have accounts and would be easier for everyone to keep it all in the same place.

I'll be setting up the training alliance for you smaller members to grow in and "graduate." That's as soon as I figure out how to do it through all the new pages....

DEF will continue to lead Technocracy while I split off to command the training alliance. He and I will communicate regularly and keep you all informed.

Thank you very much kaffe. As for names, what do you think about keeping the cracy part at the end? Ie, Cyberocracy or Kleptocracy? However it is your alliance so at the end of the day, you choose.

Well the time has come for one of the biggest changes this alliance has ever faced. It is time for the members between 0 and 50million army size to move from one alliance to another. It is in all of our best interests to make this as easy and painless as possible. I shall remove all members within the 0-50million army size zone, meaning you will then be able to simply request to join the new alliance which is named "Tech Ventures". This will give you access to help and advice. The aim of this new alliance is for you to be able to grow with minimum distractions. Once you have got to the targeted 100million army size, you will then be able to rejoin Technocracy. I hope to see you all in Technocracy again very soon. If you do not know how to request to join "Tech Ventures" then please message me and I will be more than happy to explain as with any other problems.

All members that have army sizes between 51million and 100million will be given one month to reach 101million or higher. If you do not reach this targeted army size within the give time you will be moved into the “Tech Ventures” alliance until you have reached the 101million or higher army size.

Hi, all,

Tech Ventures is off to a good start. Our alliance bank grew enough today that I could spend the 10 billion naq it takes to change our House from none to Ptah. So we are together on that already. Those of you who made the move already should be seeing the turns bonus due to belonging to the House of Ptah.

I sent most of the folks who joined already a signing bonus of UU. As we're a training alliance and our first mission as part of that training is to GROW, it seemed fitting to send the members something that helps them grow immediately. If you don't have yours yet, I'll be sending UU along as I get it. I'm on PPT now and for most of this week, so raiding is out except perhaps between PPTs.

Of course the vultures are already at the gates, and the training lesson in that is to build enough DEF to hold the naq you leave out -- or be willing to be attacked and lose the naq (and take the damage). I had an interesting MSN chat today with a player who was ranked 55 at the time. She was quite cheerful, but it's also clear she and others like her regard us all -- me included at 300+ army size -- as farms. As she talked about some snotty teen she had an exchange with recently, it was clear no amount of whining or appeal to some "peaceful relations" would stop her from taking whatever you have if she wants it. Just a fact of life, recruits, so learn to accept it. An
"Unknown of the Anything" is very powerful. It's all about how much you have and how painful you make it for someone to take it. Lest you think ill of her, she's one of the reasonable players in the game. There are some out there who will destroy you if you do so much at send a message -- just for the fun of destroying your account. In the end, the only recourse you have is to GROW and become powerful via your size.

Of course, we're still part of the Technocracy family. I wouldn't have left after 1296 days in Technocracy to take on training younger players in Tech Ventures if it were any other way. I have mentioned to a couple folks that once you grow to become large enough to move back to Technocracy that you're welcome and encouraged to go. On the other hand, if you're not ready to leave Tech Ventures, neither I nor anyone else will push you out the door.
